Description

Origin: Myanmar (Burma) is the most popular ruby origin because of its brilliant colour saturation and consistency. However, the discovery of new ruby mines in Africa and Asia has expanded the choice range for customers by giving away new varieties like the Mozambique rubyThailand ruby and Afghanistan ruby, Bangkok (Sudan) ruby, etc.

Colour: Ruby comes in range of pinkish red to dark red in colour.

Clarity: “Eye Clean” ruby is considered to be a good choice which means the gemstone is completely clear to the naked eye. Natural gemstones cannot be free of inclusions which mean crystal and feathers are typically discovered in Rubies. Only man-made synthetic stones are flawless.

Cut: Cut is normally misunderstood as the shape of the gemstone, but it refers to the faces on the gemstone’s surface. These cuts allow the light and colour to pass through and shine to the fullest.

Carat Weight:  If the stone is of good quality, a 3 to 4 carat ruby will suit a wearer of any age and body weight and provide good results. If the stone is of low to medium quality, a 5 to 7 carat ruby is recommended. If one can afford it, a 5-10 carat good quality ruby is best.

Who can wear Ruby?

In Vedic astrology, ruby is ideally suited for those whose moon signs (rashi) and ascendants (lagna) are Aries (mesha), Leo (singha), Scorpio (vrshchika) and Sagittarius (dhanu).

We recommend that you get advice from a qualified astrologer to better understand the position of the Sun in your birth chart and the suitability of ruby for you.

Western Astrology, on the other hand, promotes ruby as the birthstone of July.

Benefits of Ruby

The wearer of a flawless ruby is rewarded with prosperity, property, and children. Ruby aids in fearlessness and protects the bearer from suffering, sorrow, and disasters. Wearers gain stamina, which strengthens their willpower and spirit, and earns them respect in society. Those in government positions struggling to gain promotions will benefit by wearing this.

Care and Cleaning:

  • Wash your ruby stone a few times a year.
  • Take a soft micro-fibre material to separate the oil and dirt collected on the ruby
  • Use a soft toothbrush or jewellery brush to brush off the jewellery.

Price Range: Ruby stone price varies steeply even within the same variety because of several quality factors. Origin, colour, clarity and uniqueness, collectively influence the price of ruby. Ruby stone prices can range anywhere between £25 per carat to £3500 per carat.
